Gaming Information for Charitable Groups (GAIN)

In November 2003, the GAIN program was launched to help volunteers gain a better understanding of the responsibilities and requirements of a gaming licence and to better assist them to be more accountable to their members and the community at large. To date, thousands of volunteers have participated in the program.

  • A Combined session is available, which provides an overview of policies about conducting a gaming event and Use of Proceeds
    (3.5 - 4 hours).
  • The Use of Proceeds session focuses on key information about spending gaming revenue earned from casinos, bingos, raffles, and pull tickets (2 - 2.5 hours).
  • The Casino session is recommended for groups scheduled for a casino event in the next 12 months (1.5 hours).

Sessions are free to all volunteers and charitable groups, and are available year-round throughout the province. Sessions are posted quarterly. Please check for frequent updates.

All general inquiries and Gaming/Licensing/Use of Proceeds questions please call the AGLC switchboard at 1-800-272-8876 or 780-447-8600.
