MLA Review Committee – Charitable Gaming Licensing Eligibility and Use of Proceeds

A review of Alberta’s policies on who is eligible for charitable gaming Licences and how the proceeds from these charitable gaming activities are used was conducted by Yvonne Fritz, MLA for Calgary Cross. The comprehensive review included consultation with charities, industry stakeholders and the public.

The MLA Review Committee on Charitable Gaming Licensing Eligibility and Use of Proceeds report, which includes 42 recommendations, was completed and the Alberta Government has accepted 41 of the 42 recommendations. Building on those recommendations, the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission (AGLC) has consolidated the current Licensing eligibility and use of proceeds policies into one set of policies.
