ATM Policy
In July of 2006, the AGLC instituted the ATM policy in VLT establishments. This policy stipulates that VLT retailers must ensure that any ATMs located in their premises are at least 15 feet away from the nearest VLT.
Studies have shown that the break in rhythm that results from leaving the VLT to walk the 15 feet (or more) to the ATM can be enough to prompt VLT players to ‘pause and reflect’ on their motivations for withdrawing funds, possibly prompting them to change their minds and not follow through with the withdrawal.
