Responsible Gambling Information
Advertising Campaign
Through a variety of media, the AGLC is educating Albertans
about the need to gamble responsibly.
In the second phase of this information campaign, three 30-second
radio ads, two 15-second TV ads, washroom posters in VLT retailer
outlets, online advertising and CoolSign video ads in Alberta’s
casinos and racing entertainment centres address commonly acknowledged
myths (and the facts) of gambling to provide gamblers with useful
information about how to keep gambling fun.
Whether it is the lady in the casino with her lucky cricket,
the man at the slot machine counting on quantum physics and celestial
events to guide his play, or the disproved theory of hot and
cold machines, the campaign takes a light and innovative approach,
prompting gamblers to reflect on their own gambling behaviour
and encouraging them to use the resources and information available
to help stay in control of their gambling.
