SARDAA trains and deploys search dog teams for use by police agencies. We aid in searches for missing persons and evidence, bringing closure to families, or criminals to justice. AGLC funding benefits us by allowing us to purchase equipment and training materials essential to our work, such as uniforms, radios, GPS units and water craft, in addition to the storage of equipment.
Training is extremely important to our members—AGLC funding provides courses in a wide range of areas such as basic and wilderness first aid, hazardous materials and structures, navigation, wilderness survival training, swift water awareness and swift water technician skills. Funding also covers the cost of our members attending searches. Another important benefit is our ability to cover veterinary costs for injuries to our certified dogs if injured on an official search or at a training exercise.
