Class A Off Sales

Liquor Bulletin

March 17, 2020

This bulletin is to advise all liquor licensees of an IMPORTANT AMENDMENT to the Liquor Licensee Handbook and Liquor Manufacturer Handbook.

Effective immediately, all Class A licensees are permitted to sell liquor for off-site consumption. Liquor may be sold through take-out or delivery from licensed establishments with or without the purchase of food.

Liquor products must be in a sealed, commercial container. In the case of draught beer, the cap design of the container (e.g. growlers or crowlers) should demonstrate the container has not been opened during transportation.

Age verification will be requested by the delivery person to ensure the recipient of the order is of legal age. Delivery drivers will be required to have ProServe and abide by ProServe requirements.

The amended policy is located in Sections 3.1 and 3.2 of the Liquor Licensee Handbook and Sections 3.7 and 3.8 of the Liquor Manufacturer Handbook and may be accessed on AGLC’s website at aglc.ca

Please familiarize yourself with the amended policy and ensure affected staff are notified of this change.

If you have any questions, please contact AGLC’s Compliance Branch at inspections.mailbox@aglc.ca.
