Objections to an Application

This bulletin is to advise all applicants for a liquor licence and other interested stakeholders of an important amendment to the Objections to an Application policy.

Effective April 6, 2020, Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC) is reducing the amount of time an objection to a liquor licence application may be filed from 21 days to seven days.

The amended policies are located in the following handbooks:

  • Section 2.3 of the Retail Liquor Store Handbook;
  • Section 2.4 of the Liquor Licensee Handbook;
  • Section 2.3 of the Liquor Manufacturer Handbook; and
  • Section 2.3 of the General Merchandise Liquor Store Handbook;

The amended handbook may be accessed on AGLC’s website at aglc.ca.

Please familiarize yourself with the amended policy and ensure all affected staff are notified of the amendments.
