Information Access & FOIP

Alberta Gaming, Liquor & Cannabis (AGLC) is governed by the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP Act) and is committed to creating a culture of transparency and openness.

Making a FOIP request

To request access to information in the custody or control of AGLC please submit a formal request in writing, together with any applicable fees (this form may be used).

If you are unable to make a request in writing, please contact our FOIP Coordinator at 780-447-7516.

When making a FOIP request, you will need to:

  • specify if you are looking for "Personal Information" (information about yourself or a person you are authorized to represent - no initial fee required) or "General Information" (any other information, including that of a third party - $25 initial fee required)
  • provide your name, address and a phone number we can use to contact you if there are any questions about your request
  • be as clear and include as much detail as possible when describing the records you wish to access
  • include a specific time frame, where possible, as this can often assist in speeding up the process
  • sign and date your request.

Correcting personal information

The FOIP Act also gives you the right to ask for a correction to any incorrect personal information AGLC may have.

A request to correct personal information must be made in writing. You may either complete a request form or write us a letter indicating you would like to make a correction under the FOIP Act.

If you are unable to make a request in writing, please contact our FOIP Coordinator at 780-447-7516.

Whether writing a letter or completing a request form, you will need to:

  • provide your name, address and a phone number we can use to contact you if there are any questions about the request
  • identify the information that you believe is incorrect and provide the correction
  • be as specific as possible
  • sign and date the request form or letter
