Starting March 25, 2024, AGLC is implementing an online licensing system for liquor and cannabis applicants. This will replace the current manual application process.

Starting March 25, 2024, most liquor and cannabis applicants and licensees, including public special event liquor licence applicants, will use an online process. Licensees will also have the ability to pay for reissued licences and modify licence details.

Gaming licensees will continue to submit licence applications as they currently do by email or delivered to AGLC offices. AGLC will eventually transition the gaming licensing application process to an online process. Timing for this phase has not been determined.

Once the new online application process is launched, there will be a 90-day transition period, beginning on launch day, where AGLC will continue to accept manual licence applications. After 90 days, most liquor and cannabis licence applications will be online.

Yes. Applicants will be able to pay licence and application fees online using debit or credit.

There may be delays with applications as the online licensing system is launched.

AGLC asks for patience during this transition and will do everything to ensure applications and any changes are completed as soon as possible. Applicants are encouraged to apply by before potential service interruptions occur.

If you are holding a wedding, family anniversary, or a regular meeting for invited guests and members that involves selling liquor or providing liquor for free, you are required to apply online for a private special event licence.

If you are hosting a public event open to the public such as a festival, beer garden, concert or special event, you are required to apply online for a public special event licence.
