Policy Amendments – Audit Requirement & Option

This bulletin is to advise all bingo facility licensees of IMPORTANT AMENDMENTS to the Commercial Bingo Handbook (CBH).
- In keeping with the Government of Alberta red tape reduction initiative, the amended policy includes a change that provides industry stakeholders with increased flexibility and efficiency in running their operations:
- Section 3.5.9 j):
- The policy amendment provides an option for bingo association member charities to reduce costs associated with audited financial statements at the fiscal year end.
- The facility licensee may, if approved by member charities, provide member charities with a review engagement in lieu of the audit.
- Section 3.5.9 j):
Please familiarize yourself with the amended policies, update your CBH as required, and ensure all affected staff are notified of the new requirement(s).
